ZANU PF chief whip, Pupurai Togarepi has hit back at Julius Malema, leader of South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) after he criticised the Zimbabwean government over reports of massive looting of funds under the guise of fighting the novel coronavirus. Togarepi accused Malema of being a G40 puppet who should focus on his country’s problems rather than Zimbabwe’s. MDC Alliance secretary for policy and research Tapiwa Mashakada has criticised the ‘unilateral’ decision by the party leader Nelson Chamisa to elevate Fadzayi Mahere to the post of party spokesperson when she has less than five years since joining the party. He was speaking during a live interview on SlyMedia’s Facebook platform during which he claimed that Chamisa now surrounds himself with an autocratic cabal, comprised of former student leaders, which will not allow him to go to the extra-ordinary Congress. The MDC Alliance (MDCA) Mashonaland West Women’s Assembly has thrown its weight fully behind newly-appointed national party spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere after her appointment was publicly condemned by Hatfield MP Tapiwa Mashakada. Speaking in an interview with SlyMedia Productions on Sunday, Mashakada queried why Mahere, a latecomer to the Alliance was given such a powerful post ahead of party members who have been in the movement for a long time.
